景观学系

华中科技大学景观学系的前身是1960年开办的武汉城市建设学院园林专业，创办人为中国风景园林终身成就奖获得者余树勋先生。1984年设立风景园林专业，其时中国以“风景园林”命名的院校有5所，我校为其中之一，是中国最早开办风景园林专业的建筑类院校之一。其后经建设部批准成立风景园林研究所，中国风景园林终身成就奖获得者、中国工程院院士陈俊愉任第一任所长。

目前，本系已经形成涵盖本科、硕士及博士的完整的培养体系。自1994年起以城市规划（风景园林方向）获工学硕士授予权；2006年首获风景园林专业学位硕士授予权，是我国第一批具有该学位授予权的单位之一；2007年风景园林本科专业获教育部批转恢复招生，2008年获得工程景观学博士学位二级学科授予权；2012年取得风景园林规划与设计博士学位二级学位授予权。

本学科以人居环境学科群为平台，以风景园林规划设计及其理论为核心，以中、小尺度国土和城市的户外境域为立足，以城市景观、工程景观为特色的，创办能体现“精本、壮硕、特博”特点的，中部地区一流、在全国具有鲜明特色、世界有一定影响的学科。学科方向立足于风景园林规划与设计，建立了园林与景观设计、风景园林历史理论与遗产保护、大地景观规划与生态修复、工程景观研究等4个研究方向，并在园林与景观设计、城市景观规划设计、工程景观设计等三个领域独具特色。

本系的师资结构合理、梯队分明、具有多元的国际化背景。现任专职教师多位海归博士，来自景观专业的国际一流名校。本系的教师不仅取得了丰富的教学及科研成果，而且依托于学院的风景园林甲级，城市规划甲级资质，承担了许多重大的风景园林工程设计项目。本系教师的国家自然科学基金申请成功率及师均权威期刊发表数量在全国同类学科的院校中均属前列。

自从1960年办学以来，作为全国重要的风景园林教育基地，本专业为全国城建领域培养和输送了大量的风景园林专业技术人才，其中相当一部分毕业生走上了各省市园林部门领导岗位，成为风景园林、城市规划领域的知名专家。

近年来，本系加快国际化进程，不仅大力引进具有国际化背景的高级人才，而且与美国哈佛大学、华盛顿大学、伯克利大学、英国谢菲尔德大学、荷兰代尔夫特理工大学、日本千叶大学等保持着持续而密切的合作交流。我系特邀百余位外籍专家讲学，开展中外国际化课程教学、中外研究生联合景观规划设计及其他广泛而深入的学术合作。此外，携手国内外一流企业共建联合培养基地，其中1个被授予全国示范性风景园林专业的联合培养基地。近十余年连续主办七届“城市与景观新思维”国际学术会议及大学生设计竞赛，在业界拥有较大的学术影响。

The Department of Landscape Architecture in Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) is formerly known as Wuhan Urban Construction Institute of Urban Greening which was established in 1960. The founder Prof. Yu Shuxun is the China Landscape Lifetime Achievement Award winner. At that time, HUST was one of the 5 colleges and universities named by "landscape architecture" in China. As one of the earliest Architectural Colleges which offered the Landscape Specialty in China, HUST has set up a professional landscape architecture in 1985 and then established the Research Institute of Landscape Architecture with the approval from the Ministry of construction. Chen Junyvu, China Landscape Lifetime Achievement Award winner and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, was appointed as the first director.

At present, the Department has established a complete training system covering Undergraduate, Master and Doctoral degree. The department of Urban Planning (Landscape Architecture direction) has the right to grant the master of engineering since 1994. In 2006, It is the first batch of institutes which obtained the right to grant master degree in Landscape Architecture in China. The Landscape architecture department was approved to resume enrollment by the Ministry of Education in 2007. It obtained the right to grant the sub-discipline doctoral degree of Landscape Engineering and Landscape Planning and Design in 2008 and 2012 respectively.

Our department takes the discipline group of human settlements environment as the platform, takes the landscape planning and design and its theory as the core, and takes the medium and small scale land and urban outdoor environment as the foothold. Characterized by urban landscapes and engineering landscapes, we aim at build our discipline that can reflect the characteristics of “elite undergraduate, solid master, and distinguished doctor”, which is first-class in the central region, has distinctive characteristics in the country, and has certain influence in the world. Based on landscape planning and design, our department has establish four research directions including garden and landscape design, theory of landscape architecture history and heritage protection, landscape planning and ecological restoration and Landscape Engineering Research, etc. It shows unique characteristics in three filed: landscape design, urban landscape planning design and landscape engineering.

The structure of teaching staff in our department is reasonable, the echelon is distinct, and has diverse international background. Most of the full-time teachers come from first-class international universities. They have not only achieved rich fruits in teaching and research, but also accomplished a number of significant projects in landscape planning and design depending on the class A qualification of landscape architecture and urban planning of the school. Both the teacher's application success rate of National Natural Science Foundation of China and the average number of journals published in authoritative journals are in the forefront among the top universities in China.

Since 1960, as an important national education base, the Department of Landscape Architecture has trained a number of expert professionals. A considerable part of the graduates has taken leading positions at the provincial or municipal department, serving as well-known experts, expanded professional and disciplinary impacts in the country.

In recent years, the department has been accelerating its pace of international education and academic exchanges. It has not only brought in professionals with international background vigorously, but also maintained continuous and close cooperation and exchanges with Harvard University, Washington University, University of Berkeley, University of Sheffield, Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and Chiba University in Japan. The Department has invited hundreds of foreign experts to give lectures and carried out international lectures with the teachers from China and abroad, design workshops between Chinese and foreign postgraduates, and other academic exchanges each year. Additionally, it has continuously hosted five ‘Urban Landscape New Thinking’ international conferences and students’ design competition in the last decade, which has a significant academic impact in this field.
